Lionel Cormier, painter, studied art history at Mount Allison University and at the Université de Moncton and received several arts scholarships from the New Brunswick Arts Board.
Focusing primarily on the interaction between a painter and his work as well as between the work and the spectator, he started exploring the interactions between everything that can exist in the universe, whether is be physical or social. It is there that he found a world that is closely connected and that nourishes his artistic adventure.
He has participated in over 80 group and solo exhibits, and his works can be found in several public and private collections, including those of the Canada Arts Council, the New Brunswick Arts Board, the University of New Brunswick, NBTel, the Toronto Dominion Bank, Assumption Mutual Life Insurance Company, the National Bank, the Université de Moncton, the City of Moncton and Lethbridge University
