Susan Jardine
Profile
Susan Jardine was born in the UK and grew up in the Maritime Provinces of Canada. She is a graduate of Mount Allison University, Sackville, NB. Susan began painting in acrylics in 2006 and has studied painting in Vancouver and Victoria, Canada; in Ceret and Prades, France, and with Soraya French in the UK. Susan returned to live near her family in Shediac, NB in May 2010 after having lived and worked in Vancouver BC and having lived in southwest France. Susan draws upon her experience from walking the Camino Santiago, the Chemin St Jacques, the Via Francigenia and walking from Vienna to Prague, as well as her childhood spent in the Maritimes for her artistic expression. Susan began exhibiting her painting in public in October 2010. Susan works with acrylics and mixed media. Susan is a member of the Sackville Art Association, having joined in 2010, the Burgau/Canada Group of Six, and CARFAC. Susan is a founding member of the ArtShediac, Shediac Conversations and the Ciné-Shediac project. The Town of Shediac awarded her its 2014 Certificate of Merit in Arts and Culture. Susan has also organized Moncton Pop Up Art Markets and Shediac Art Attaques featuring local artists. Susan spent 5 weeks in France at Atelier Fourwinds in Provence on an Artist’s Residency in September–October 2015.
