Effective January 1, 2026, the Town of Shediac will implement a 3.5% levy on the cost of overnight stays in tourist accommodation establishments, such as hotels, motels, inns, and bed & breakfasts. This measure does not apply to campgrounds.
The purpose of this levy is to support the promotion and development of tourism in the region. Funds collected will be managed by a committee composed of industry representatives and municipal officials, with the goal of enhancing Shediac’s appeal as a must-visit destination.
