Workshop on making macerates and ointments
2-hour workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Multipurpose Centre

Making macerates and ointments With Sonja Hébert (offered in French)
With a focus on local plants (both wild and garden-grown), discover the joy of making your own ointments and infusions. Some plants in our region are often overlooked, yet they offer culinary and therapeutic benefits. During this workshop, you will learn about different types of oils and fats and their properties, how to infuse them with local plants, and the best methods for drying and preparing herbs, both fresh and dried, according to the seasons.

We will also discuss the ethics of harvesting, seasonal growing cycles, and basic first aid concepts.

Workshop objectives:
• Encourage the gathering and consumption of local plants for food and health.
• Ensure that common, healthy, and edible plants can be identified.
• Help the community gather and prepare its own food.
• Promote healthy and self-sufficient methods for making natural ointments and infusions.
