The Municipal Council of Shediac is considering the adoption of a municipal by-law to establish a framework for development charge. Section G of the Community Planning Act provides that the municipal council may, by municipal by-law, impose development fees on land to finance the increased investment costs necessitated by growing service needs.
Those interested in this draft by-law may consult the document at the clerk’s office at Shediac Town Hall Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to noon and 1 PM to 4 PM and Friday from 8 AM to noon.

Written comments regarding the draft by-law will be considered at a public hearing to be held at Shediac Town Hall, located at 290 Main Street in Shediac, NB, on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 6 PM. Anyone wishing to present comments will be given the opportunity to speak.
